About me
I am a translator and interpreter, scholar and academic teacher and the University of Warsaw. Language is my passion.
Education
I have a Masters degree in translation of specialist texts in and from Polish, English and German. Following the graduation at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics of the University of Warsaw I completed a Ph.D. programme and gained the degree in March 2014. My thesis was devoted to terminological dictionaries. Additionally I graduated from the School of German and European Law run by the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw and the Faculty of Law and Economics of the University of Bonn.
Professional Experience
I began working as a professional translator and interpreter from Polish into English and German, from English into Polish and German and from German into Polish and English in 2007.
My fields of expertise encompass in particular law, politics, environment protection, culture and care of elderly people. I have cooperated with i.a. government institutions (Ministry for Regional Development, State Government Office of the Land Brandenburg), translation agencies (Eklektika Academy of Business English, A. A. U. Largo, ATOMINIUM), private companies (Hotel im Park, Velux Polska Sp. z o.o., Film Studio „Okna“, Cyfrowe Repozytorium Filmowe Sp. z o.o., Warsaw Jewish Film Festival), foundations (Fundacja Rozwoju Kultury Żydowskiej w Polsce, Zielony Instytut, Polski Klub Ekologiczny) and associations (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik e.V., „mali bracia Ubogich“, Społeczne Towarzystwo Oświatowe, „Freunde alter Menschen“ e.V., Pro MASURIA e.V.).
Since 2009 I have worked as an academic teacher at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics; I give courses in i.a. Legal English, legal translation, political translation, conference interpreting, political language, analysis of specialist texts and English-German translation.
Interests
Terminological dictionaries of law, Polish-German relations, literature, grammar of the spoken language, sport (tennis, yoga, swimming).
